Inexpensive 1" Coarse Particulate FIBER-TRAPPER® 1.0 Pre-Filter Solution for Your PAS750

The F621 “FiberTrap” filter is the inexpensive OEM replacement 1st stage 1" throwaway pre-filter for Abatement Technologies, Inc.’s PAS750 (formerly PAS600) multi-use air filtration device, equipped with pre-filters and a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter that are capable of filtering many airborne contaminants.

PAS750 is Lighter and Smaller!

The new 33.5-pound HEPA-AIRE PAS750 Portable Air Scrubber from Abatement Technologies® is now the most compact and lightweight metal air scrubber available thanks to its new design and durable anodized aluminum cabinet. The variable speed PAS750 produces peak airflow of over 750 cfm. And with a peak amperage draw of only 1.9 amps or less, up to 5 units can be safely daisy-chained on one 15 amp circuit via the built-in GFCI-protected receptacles.

How it Works

The PAS750 provides particulate and odor, vapor, gas filtration with final stage filtration through a HEPA filter. The unit incorporates a series of particulate filters, including the F621, which successively remove larger size to smaller size particles from the air. In addition to providing HEPA filtration, the PAS750 is primarily used in a negative pressure or recirculation mode. A negative pressure condition is created to confine contaminated airborne particles. This condition exists when the static pressure inside the room containing the unit is lower relative to the pressure of the environment outside the room. The static pressure differential is created and maintained by continuously exhausting air out of a given room at a faster rate than air enters the room from all other sources. In the recirculation mode, all of the filtered air is exhausted back into the room containing the unit.

Designed to Capture the Coarsest Particles

The first-stage 1"-deep, coarse particulate pre-filter (F621) is designed to capture particles 100 microns or larger circulating through your air duct system—helping to extend the life of the 2nd stage carbon-pleated filter and the HEPA filter and ensuring your PAS750 is able to deliver outstanding air scrubbing performance while saving you money!

This filter has MERV 4 rating (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) according to the measuring scale to rate the effectiveness of air filters set by the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Condition). A rate 4 means the effectiveness of this filter turns around the capture of 75% of the particles 10 µm or bigger.

Simple Filter Access Makes Replacement Quick and Easy

The PAS750 boasts simple filter access by offering convenient hinged pre-filter access door.

The PAS750 control panel features a pre-filter change indicator. A red light indicates excessive restriction on air intake or loading of the pre-filter(s) and that filter change procedures should be followed.

For instructions on how and when to change your air cleaner filter, please refer to your unit’s Instruction Manual.

Third Stage Vapor-Lock® High Capacity Activated Carbon Filter (MERV 7): VL1002 (Optional)

A Carbon Filter Specially Designed to Remove Odors and Vapors

The VL1002 is the 3rd stage MERV 7 vapor-lock carbon filter for Abatement Technologies, Inc.'s PAS750 (formerly PAS600) multi-use air filtration device, equipped with pre-filters and a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter that are capable of filtering many airborne contaminants.

The 2"-deep VL1002 air filter has woven activated carbon media for absorption of gases and odors. Because it provides a similar level of particulate filtration efficiency, the VL1002 can be used in place of the 2nd stage H502 pre-filter, to reduce odors, vapors or gases (OVG), including volatile organic compounds by chemically bonding the OVG molecules to the surface area of the carbon granules, via a process known as adsorption.

How Adsorption Works

Effective carbon adsorption is dependent upon the amount of carbon and exposed carbon granule surfaces, and the dwell (contact) time the OVG molecules have with the carbon granules. Operating the PAS750 at lower speed settings to increase dwell time can therefore improve OVG adsorption, though it is highly unlikely that all of the OVG will be removed in one pass of air through the unit. Operating the PAS750 in the recirculation mode can increase effectiveness, by exposing OVG particles to multiple passes through the Vapor-Lock filter.

It’s difficult to provide accurate estimates to two commonly asked questions: “how much time will it take to capture all of the OVG?”, and “how do I know when a carbon filter should be replaced?” Unfortunately, unknown factors, such as concentration levels, fresh-air intake volume, temperature, and humidity prevent establishment of any more accurate ‘rule of thumb’ than one’s sense of smell. Since off-gassing of adsorbed OVG can occur when the adsorption capacity of the filter is reached, replace the carbon filter as soon as odor breakthrough is sensed.

Replacing Your PAS750 VL1002 Filter

The manufacturer recommends you change your PAS750 VL1002 carbon filter every 6 to 12 months under normal operating conditions. For instructions on how to change your PAS750 filter, please refer to your unit’s Instruction Manual.

Final Stage 99.97% HEPA Filter @ .3 Microns: H161606-99

PAS750 Final Stage Round Replacement HEPA Filter Gets the Job Done

The H161606-99 is the final stage round replacement HEPA filter for Abatement Technologies, Inc.'s PAS750 (formerly PAS600) multi-use air filtration device, equipped with pre-filters and a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter that are capable of filtering many airborne contaminants.

How HEPA Works

HEPA filters capture 99.97% of airborne contaminants as small as 0.3 microns in size. The Abatement Technologies H161606-99 HEPA filter removes bacteria, mold spores, soot, pollens, animal hair, animal dander, dust mites, smoke particles, and other allergens and lung damaging particles.

A largely effective final stage filter!

How often do Abatement HEPA filters need to be changed?

The PAS750 features a helpful filter change indicator specific to the HEPA filter. A red light indicates excessive restriction on air exhaust or loading of the HEPA filter and that filter change procedures should be followed.

The manufacturer recommends you change the H161606-99 HEPA filter every 2 to 3 years under normal operating conditions. However, the size and concentration of airborne contaminants, temperature, humidity conditions and duration of use determine how often filters need replacement. As the filters become loaded with particulate matter, the airflow capacity of the unit decreases and the static pressure differential across the filter increases.

Abatement PREDATOR and HEPA-AIRE Portable Air Scrubbers are equipped with easy-to-read filter change indicator lamps that illuminate when filters should be replaced. Unlike gauges, these lamps do not require operator interpretation or calculations. Average filter life (with continuous operation):

  • Primary filter: 1 day
  • Secondary filters: 3-7 days
  • HEPA filter: 500 to 1,000 hours
